Initiative: "When we switch off the light bulbs, we take good care of nature".
Originator: Dariusz Cielniak
Location: Jedlińsk, Public Primary School
Implementation date: 09/2015-05/2016
Description of the problem encountered: The building of the T. Kościuszko Public Primary School in Jedlińsk has been renovated several times in recent years, but due to its large volume, the renovation has never covered the whole building. The whole school building was insulated, the external facade was made, the windows and the central heating installation were replaced. However, the old electrical installation, which is very energy-intensive and has often broken down, is still a problem.

Activities:
- replacement of the lighting in 5 classrooms, 3 backrooms to classrooms and the school corridor;
- changing switches and power distribution boards;
- organising the 14th edition of the environmental competition;
- planting of deciduous and coniferous shrubs around the building;
- presentations by pupils in school classes on energy saving;
- an environmental slogan competition to encourage energy saving.
Planned results: By replacing the lighting, the energy efficiency of the school building will be increased and thus the environment will be improved. The new lamps will reduce emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere and lower electricity costs. As a result of the measures, awareness will be raised among pupils, parents and teachers, who will be able to use the knowledge they have gained in their everyday lives, e.g. in their households.

The winners were the pupils from the PSP in Zawady Nowe. Prizes were presented on 15 June 2016.
In addition, an energy-saving activity was held at the school, during which a multimedia presentation was displayed in all classes.
