The Foundation for the Development of Polish Agriculture (FDPA) has completed two key projects on agricultural biogas plants, commissioned by the National Agricultural Support Centre (NEPA). The projects included the publication of a handbook for local government officials and a series of workshops on biogas and agricultural microgas plants.
The first activity was the preparation of a handbook for local government officials to serve as a tool to support local authorities in planning and implementing biogas investments.
The second activity was a series of workshops aimed at spreading knowledge about agricultural biogas plants among agricultural producers, administrative staff and processors from the agri-food sector. A total of six workshops were organised as part of the project: three on agricultural biogas plants up to 50 kWe and three on agricultural biogas plants up to 0,5 MWe. The workshops were held in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Lubelskie, Zachodniopomorskie, Mazowieckie, Pomorskie and Wielkopolskie Voivodships.

Each training session consisted of a theoretical part and a study visit to functioning biogas installations. In the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, where no microbiogas plant is in operation, instead of a visit, participants had the opportunity to watch a film about the technological process.
The workshop met with great interest, and participants highly appreciated both the content-related quality of the training and the competence of the trainers. The aim of both projects was to promote renewable energy sources in rural areas and support sustainable agricultural development in Poland.
